ABOUT SPIRIT

ABOUT SPIRIT

  ACTS CHAPTER 1

  VERSE, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

1) In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach
2) Until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.
3) After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the Kingdom of God.
4) On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.
5) For John baptized with water, but in few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.

                       ACTS CHAPTER 2
                     VERSE, 15, 16, 17, 18
15) These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning!
16) No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17) In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
18) Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.

           1 CORINTHIANS CHAPTER 2
        VERSE, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16
10) These are the things God has revealed to us by the Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
11) For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them?
12) What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.
13) This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but is words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.
14) The person without the spirit does not accept the things that comes from the spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.
15) The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments.
16) For “Who has known the mind of the LORD so as to instruct him?”

                        1 JOHN CHAPTER 2
                           VERSE, 26, 27
26) I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray.
27) As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.

1) Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed.
2) You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols.
3) Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is LORD,” except by the Holy Spirit.
4) There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them.
5) There are different kinds of service, but the same LORD
6) There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
7) Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
8) To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit.
9) To another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit.
10) To another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.
11) All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.

7) Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
8) If I go up to the heavens you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9) If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea.
10) Even there your hand will guide me; your right hand will hold me fast.
11) If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me.”

14) He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you.
15) All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.
16) Jesus went on to say. “In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.”
